Our verdict

Famulor is worth a look if you want voice AI that is priced per minute, starts free and keeps data in the EU. The free start (800 credits, no card) makes it cheap to test a real call flow before committing to a plan.

Famulor is an AI voice agent platform built and operated by BEK Service GmbH in Kempten, Germany. Its agents answer inbound calls, run outbound campaigns, qualify leads and book appointments, then follow up on WhatsApp, SMS and email. A visual no-code builder lets non-developers design call flows, and a public REST API, a command-line tool and an MCP server are there for teams that want to wire it into their own stack.

Beyond phone calls, the same assistant can be deployed on web chat, live voice on a website, WhatsApp Business, Telegram, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Messenger and Instagram, and it can reply to tickets in helpdesks such as Zendesk, Freshdesk and Intercom. The vendor lists more than 1,000 connected apps and 120 languages, with voices from providers including ElevenLabs and Cartesia.

Compliance is a selling point for European buyers. Famulor states that it is GDPR compliant, hosts its database in the EU (AWS Frankfurt), can restrict AI processing to the EU or the US per workspace, redacts PII in transcripts and does not train models on call data without opt-in. It also offers white-label resale for agencies and an enterprise tier with SAML single sign-on.

This editorial review is based on desk research of the public website and pricing page, not a hands-on test of the platform.

Who it's for

Best for

  • Small businesses
  • agencies and support or sales teams that want AI phone and WhatsApp agents
  • especially in Europe where GDPR and EU hosting matter.

Not ideal for

  • Teams that want a fixed monthly price with unlimited minutes
  • or buyers who need a human-staffed call center rather than software.

How we tested

Desk research on 5 Oct 2026 using the public homepage, pricing page and the vendor's own product summary. We did not place test calls. The site shows prices in the visitor's currency (EUR or USD) and runs a promotion on per-minute rates until 30 Nov 2026, so check the pricing page for the figure you will pay. Founders and founding year are left blank because we could not confirm them on the official site.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Free to start with no credit card, and plans can be changed or cancelled at any time.
  • Wide channel coverage: phone, WhatsApp, web chat, helpdesks and messaging apps.
  • EU hosting, GDPR compliance and a signed DPA on request.
  • Public API, CLI and MCP server alongside the no-code builder.

Cons

  • Per-minute pricing makes costs variable at high call volume.
  • Unused included minutes do not roll over to the next month.
  • Prices are shown in different currencies and promotional rates, which can make plan comparison confusing.
  • Famulor is a software platform, so you still have to design and test your own call flows.
