AppsInsight Trust Center

How Apps Insight works: our scoring engine, ranking methodology, revenue model, and editorial standards — documented in full and kept in sync with the code that runs the site.

Live rules Human reviewed Revenue separated

AppsInsight is a software discovery platform that ranks apps and IT companies using a published, verifiable methodology. Every score on this site is computed by the same public rule set, every review passes moderation, and no vendor can pay to change a score or a rank. This Trust Center documents exactly how all of it works.

How AppsInsight works

Every listing on AppsInsight goes through the same five-step pipeline:

  1. Listing. Apps enter the directory through vendor submission or editorial research. Every listing starts with the same empty profile and the same scoring rules.
  2. Verification. We check trust signals we can observe directly — HTTPS, published privacy policy and terms, support channels, security certifications, and the AppsInsight verification badge.
  3. Editorial review. Our editors evaluate product quality, ease of use, feature depth, innovation, and value for money. Editorial points cannot be purchased or influenced by vendors.
  4. Community reviews. Verified user reviews feed the Community portion of the score, weighted by rating and recency.
  5. Scoring and ranking. The AppsInsight Score engine combines all of the above into a 100-point score, recalculated automatically whenever a listing changes and in a full weekly pass across the entire directory.

How AppsInsight Makes Money

Our revenue comes from referral partnerships, disclosed in full here. Money cannot change a score, a rank, an editorial verdict, or a review — the scoring engine has no input for payment.

Review Integrity — How Reviews Work

Every review comes from a registered account, passes spam protection, and is read by a human moderator before publication. Only approved reviews count toward scores — and none can be bought or removed for money.

Where Our Data Comes From

Listing data comes from vendors, from signals we verify ourselves, and from automated research of the vendor's own website — and nothing automated is published without human approval.

Our commitments

  • Independence. Editorial verdicts and scores are never for sale. Revenue sources are disclosed in full in How We Make Money.
  • Transparency. The exact scoring rules and their point values are published in The AppsInsight Score, Explained — rendered live from the engine that computes them. First-party directory metrics are published weekly in our Transparency Report.
  • Accountability. Every methodology page names its author, shows its last-updated date, and carries a version number. Our editorial team is publicly listed. Common questions are collected in our Methodology FAQ. If we get something wrong, the corrections contact at the bottom of every page reaches a human who can fix it.
