What is Rows?

AI-first spreadsheet with live data integrations and a plain-language AI Analyst. Our verdict

Rows earns its rating as the AI-first connected spreadsheet: live integrations with dozens of business tools, a plain-language AI Analyst, a free plan, and paid plans from $6 per user per month billed annually. It trails incumbents on modeling depth and ecosystem size.

Rows is a modern web spreadsheet that pitches itself as your new AI Data Analyst: a grid where you can extract data from PDFs, import business data from the tools you already use, and analyze it with plain-language AI instead of SQL queries or BI dashboards. The grid itself covers the fundamentals – formulas, charts, pivot tables, sharing and collaboration – so it works as a daily spreadsheet, not just a demo. The company, founded in 2016 with offices in Porto and Berlin, has joined Superhuman, a fact the site discloses in a banner on every page, and the product continues as a standalone spreadsheet with a generous free plan.

The differentiator is data connectivity. Rows’ integrations catalog spans marketing, finance, CRM and database sources – Notion, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Search Console and more – pulling live data straight into

Rows’ integrations catalog spans marketing, finance, CRM and database sources – Notion, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google Search Console and more – pulling live data straight into cells. On top of that sits the AI Analyst, which answers questions about your tables, adds columns, builds pivot tables and creates charts from plain-language requests. A developer API at developers.rows.com supports custom workflows, and rows.com/docs hosts the support documentation. Guests can be invited to shared spreadsheets, with guest limits scaling from 3 on Free up to 200 on Pro.

Pricing, verified on the official pricing page: a Free plan at $0 with unlimited spreadsheets, 5 AI tasks per month and 10 integration accounts; Plus at $8 per user per month billed monthly ($6 per user per month billed annually) with 200 AI tasks; Pro at $79 per month plus $8 per user ($59 plus $6 per user on annual billing) with 1,000 AI tasks and faster automation; and a custom Enterprise tier with advanced API endpoints, SAML SSO and a dedicated CS manager. Annual billing saves around 20%.

Where it falls short: AI tasks are metered on every plan, so heavy AI use pushes you up the ladder quickly; the deepest modeling features of Excel or Google Sheets – and their giant template and add-on ecosystems – are not all here; support on lower tiers runs through documentation and email, with video support reserved for Pro; and the Superhuman transition means the roadmap now sits with a parent company, which some buyers will want to watch.

Overall, Rows is the most interesting new take on spreadsheets in this category: a connected, AI-first grid that shines for marketing and ops teams pulling data from many tools. Traditional finance-modeling power users may still want the depth of the incumbents.
