AppsInsight content is written and maintained by a named editorial team, based on documented research, and corrected publicly when we get things wrong. This page describes who produces our content, how we verify what we publish, and how to request a correction.
Who writes and reviews our content
Every methodology page and editorial review on AppsInsight is attributed to a named author, and significant pages carry a separate reviewer. Author pages list each person’s role and published work. Editors who conduct app reviews are not informed of any commercial relationship between AppsInsight and the vendor under review.
Our research process
Listing data comes from two sources, and we treat them differently:
- Vendor-submitted data — descriptions, screenshots, pricing, feature lists. This earns profile-completeness points but is labeled as vendor-provided and does not by itself produce a public score.
- Independently verified data — signals we check ourselves, such as HTTPS, published legal pages, badge verification, and review activity. These carry more scoring weight precisely because vendors cannot simply assert them.
Editorial reviews are conducted against a fixed six-criterion rubric (product quality, ease of use, feature depth, innovation, value, recommendation confidence) so that two editors reviewing the same product work from the same definitions.
Review integrity
User reviews pass moderation before publication, and only approved reviews count toward scores. Review scoring is milestone-based and rating-weighted, with a separate recency component. Our editorial team
Editorial verdicts are written and reviewed by named AppsInsight staff listed on our Editorial Team page. Every category ranking and methodology update is attributable to a real person with a public profile.
AI usage disclosure
We use AI tools to assist with data extraction and first drafts of listing summaries. AI output is never published as an editorial verdict: all scored editorial criteria, rankings, and recommendations are decided by humans, and AI-assisted text is reviewed by an editor before publication.
Fact-checking and corrections
Before publication, factual claims in editorial content are checked against primary sources — vendor documentation, changelogs, and our own testing. When an error is found after publication, we correct the page, update its last-modified date, and note material corrections in the page itself.
