Our verdict

A clear idea for people who bounce between AI models: one memory that stays encrypted on your device, a free plan and three modes, with Council mode for comparing answers. The Nearby people-finder is the unusual part and the one to approach carefully. I did not test the apps, and the Free plan credits are stated two different ways on the pricing page. Desk-research score 3.5/5.

Anuma is a private AI chat service built around one shared memory. You use models such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini from a single place, and the memory Anuma builds from your conversations follows you from one model to the next. A second feature, Nearby, uses that memory to suggest people close to you who share your interests, shown on a map with a match score. It runs on the web at chat.anuma.ai and the site says it is available on iOS and Android.

How the pricing works

The pricing page lists three plans. Free is 0 dollars a month with 100 credits, Starter is 9.99 dollars a month with 1,000 credits, and Pro is 19.99 dollars a month with 2,500 credits and a 20 percent cheaper rate per credit. An annual option is marked as saving 20 percent. Credits are spent on messages, image, voice and video generation, and

Credits are spent on messages, image, voice and video generation, and different models cost different amounts. They reset each month and do not roll over. One inconsistency: the plan cards say the Free plan has 100 credits, while the comparison table on the same page says 20. Check the figure in the app before you rely on it.

What it does

Anuma offers chat, image, audio and video creation, app building and agents, which the site marks as coming soon. It has three modes: Private, Standard and Council, where several models answer and compare. The site says memory stays encrypted on your device, that conversations are not used to train models and that data is not sold. Nearby shows people on a map and a compatibility result for each. Meeting strangers through an app carries its own risks, so read the safety and visibility settings before you turn it on.

Who is behind it

The terms name Meta Protocol Inc., trading as Anuma AI, and the About text says Anuma was incubated by ZetaChain, a venture-backed blockchain infrastructure company. The terms require binding individual arbitration in San Francisco and waive class actions, and say you must be at least 13, with a parent’s consent under 18. The privacy policy is dated January 22, 2026 and the terms March 18, 2026. I did not create an account, use any model or turn on Nearby, so I could not test memory, privacy claims or match quality.

Who it's for

Best for

  • People who use several AI models and are tired of repeating context; privacy-minded users who like device-side encrypted memory; people curious about meeting others nearby through shared interests; anyone who wants to try every model on a free plan first

Not ideal for

  • Teams that need admin controls or a business contract because the pages describe consumer plans; users who expect unlimited use because credits reset monthly and do not roll over; anyone uneasy about sharing location with strangers
  • which Nearby depends on; buyers who want proof of the privacy claims because they are the vendor's own statements

How we tested

Ashley Richmond desk research, October 3, 2026: the Product Hunt page and anuma.ai, including the home page, pricing page, terms (March 18, 2026) and privacy policy (January 22, 2026). I did not create an account, use the apps or turn on Nearby. The logo is the site touch icon and the screenshots are the official home page, the iOS and Android section and the pricing page.

What's new

The pricing page lists agents as coming soon and the home page promotes Nearby, a feature that finds people close to you.
