Our verdict

Dialpad pairs dependable business calling with the most genuinely useful AI in the VoIP category: real-time transcription, automatic call summaries and action items on every plan. Pricing is transparent, setup is fast, and the platform grows cleanly from a phone system into a full contact center, which protects the investment as a team scales.

Dialpad is an AI-native business communications platform that started as a cloud phone system and has grown into a full unified-communications suite. Its business phone product, Dialpad Connect, covers VoIP calling, video meetings and team messaging in one app, with AI features like real-time transcription, instant call summaries and live sentiment cues built into every plan rather than sold as add-ons.

The VoIP core is solid: unlimited calling in the US and Canada, HD voice, call forwarding, transfer and routing, voicemail with transcription, and number porting. Desktop apps for macOS and Windows plus mobile apps for iOS and Android mean the same business number follows employees across devices, and setup is fast enough that a small team can be live the same day.

Where Dialpad differentiates is the AI layer. Every call can be transcribed in real time, summarized automatically and logged with action items. For sales and support teams

For sales and support teams the same platform extends into Dialpad Sell and Dialpad Support with coaching, scorecards and analytics, so a business can start with phone service and grow into a contact center without switching vendors.

Pricing is published and predictable: Standard at $15 per user per month and Pro at $25 per user per month (annual billing), with Enterprise plans quoted by sales. There is no permanent free plan, but a 14-day free trial covers the full product. Pro adds advanced integrations, 24/7 support and multi-office management, which is the tier most growing teams will want.

Watch-outs: the headline prices assume annual billing, month-to-month costs more; some integrations and round-the-clock support sit behind the Pro tier; and the AI-heavy roadmap means the interface changes frequently, which occasional users may find disorienting.

Dialpad Connect comes in three tiers: Standard at $15 per user per month, Pro at $25, and an Enterprise plan with custom pricing, all quoted with annual billing. Standard covers unlimited calling, AI-powered meetings and built-in messaging; Pro adds the CRM integrations, 24/7 customer support and multi-office management; Enterprise targets organizations that need a published 99.9% uptime commitment. The AI layer is the differentiator Dialpad pushes hardest: real-time transcription, post-call recaps and live coaching prompts are built into the platform rather than sold as separate add-ons, and the company says 97% of its inbound contact-center customers use Dialpad AI. Integrations are a strength for a phone system at this price: Google Workspace users get click-to-call and their calendar inside Gmail, a Microsoft Teams integration is documented in Dialpad’s own help center, Salesforce and HubSpot connections pull customer records into every call, and Zapier appears in Dialpad’s app marketplace for the long tail.

For businesses that want a modern cloud phone system with genuinely useful AI included rather than bolted on, Dialpad is one of the strongest VoIP options to shortlist, especially for teams already sold on transcription and call intelligence.
