Aerobits is a Polish technology company that specialises in miniaturised avionics and ADS‑B solutions for drones and manned aircraft. Its goal is to make airspace surveillance and identification hardware so small and light that it can fit even into compact UAVs without losing performance.
The company grew out of university research in Szczecin, where the team created one of the world’s smallest ADS‑B/GNSS modules, under 4 cm² and about 1.5 g. As one of the top aviation‑tech players supporting drone manufacturing in Poland, Aerobits helps integrate safe tracking and traffic‑management functions directly into UAV platforms.
Aerobits focuses on making very small avionics modules, mainly ADS‑B and GNSS‑based receivers and transponders. These parts let drones and aircraft broadcast and receive position data for safer flights. The company serves both UAV and manned aviation markets worldwide.
Aerobits’ roots go back to about 2015, when researchers at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin built a sub‑miniature ADS‑B implementation with multi‑GNSS. The success of this module led to the creation of the company, which has been active on the global market since around 2017. Its early work was recognised by Polish authorities and at major trade shows such as Hannover Messe and ILA Berlin.
Drones need to be visible to other airspace users to fly safely, especially near manned aircraft and in controlled airspace. Aerobits modules add ADS‑B and GNSS‑based position sharing without adding much weight or size. This helps UAV makers meet traffic‑management rules and reduce collision risks.
One of Aerobits’ key OEM modules has an area under 4 cm² and weight of about 1.5 g. Despite this tiny form factor, it combines ADS‑B and GNSS functions with strong computing power. That makes it suitable even for small drones that have strict payload limits.
Aerobits brings deep know‑how in avionics miniaturisation and airspace‑integration technology. Its products are used globally and align with programmes like EU SESAR and US NextGen for modern air‑traffic management. For UAV manufacturers, this means proven, compact hardware that supports safer, compliant drone operations.
