What is Mock and Match?

Fake test data & JSON tools, 100% in your browser Mock and Match is a small set of free developer tools that run in the browser.

Our verdict

Two focused developer tools in one place: a schema-based fake data generator with many export formats, and a format converter, both said to run entirely in your browser with no account. The FAQ is straight about what the fake cards and Brazilian IDs are for. The maker is not named and I did not run a generation, so the local-processing claim is the vendor's own. Desk-research score 3.5/5.

Full review

Mock and Match is a small set of free developer tools that run in the browser. The main one, Mock Data, lets you build a schema of columns, pick how many rows you want (up to 10,000), choose English (US) or Portuguese (Brazil) data, and download the result as JSON, CSV, SQL, JSON Lines, YAML, XML, TypeScript or JavaScript. The second tool, Transform, converts between formats such as JSON to TypeScript, Zod or JSON Schema, YAML, JSON and TOML, and CSS to Tailwind classes. The site also has short written guides.

How the pricing works

The site says the tool is free and needs no sign-up or account. I found no pricing page or paid plan.

How the pricing works

The site says the tool is free and needs no sign-up or account. I found no pricing page or paid plan.

What it does

You start from a template (Users, E-commerce, API Response or Financial) or add fields one by one, each with a type from a list of more than 120, such as names, emails, addresses, dates, prices, UUIDs, test cards and Brazilian CPF and CNPJ numbers. Fields can depend on earlier fields through a formula or reference type, and any field can be set to come out blank some of the time. You can also infer a schema from a JSON sample.

Reading the claims

The About page says all content is processed in your browser and never sent to a server. Your last schema is kept in local storage on your device, and Google Analytics loads only if you accept the cookie notice. These are the vendor’s statements and I did not inspect network traffic. The FAQ warns that generated CPF, CNPJ and card numbers are valid in format only and must never be used for real sign-ups or purchases. I opened the pages but did not run a generation.

Who is behind it

The site does not name a company or person. The privacy text refers to Brazil’s LGPD and the current policy is dated September 21, 2026, Brasilia time, which points to a Brazilian maker, but that is my inference and the pages do not say so.

Who it's for

Best for

  • Developers who need realistic fixtures or seed data fast; front-end developers mocking an API response; teams working with Brazilian formats such as CPF and CNPJ; anyone who prefers tools that do not upload their data

Not ideal for

  • Teams that need a named vendor
  • SLA or support because the maker is not named; people who need more than 10
  • 000 rows or 250
  • 000 cells in one run; anyone who wants a hosted mock API rather than file downloads

How we tested

Ashley Richmond desk research, October 3, 2026: the Product Hunt page and mockandmatch.dev, including the home page, Mock Data, Transform, Guides and About and Privacy pages. I did not run a generation or inspect network traffic. The logo is the site icon and the screenshots are the official pages.

What's new

No changelog found. The privacy policy is dated September 21, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mock and Match free?
Yes. The FAQ says the tool is free and needs no sign-up or account. I found no paid plan.
Is my data sent to a server?
The site says no. Generation and conversion happen in your browser, and the last schema is saved only in your device's local storage. Google Analytics loads only if you accept the cookie notice and never receives what you type. These are vendor statements that I did not verify.
Is the generated data real?
No. Names, emails, addresses, CPF, CNPJ and cards are random. CPF and CNPJ have valid check digits and cards pass the Luhn check so they work in forms, but the site says never to use them in real sign-ups or purchases.
What are the limits?
Up to 10,000 rows at a time, and no more than 250,000 cells (rows times fields) per run.
Which export formats are there?
JSON, CSV, SQL, JSON Lines, YAML, XML, TypeScript and JavaScript for Mock Data. Transform also converts to Zod, JSON Schema and TOML.
Who makes it?
The site does not name a company or person. The privacy text refers to Brazil's LGPD, which suggests a Brazilian maker, but the pages do not say so.
